Week 23 - Baby Jumping Jacks?
June 20, 2006
I have no doubt about baby movement anymore. I have noticed that in the mornings and evenings my kids likes to get some exercises by doing some jumping jacks around my stomach. When I can feel kicks/punches in two or three locations at once, I know that kid is busy in there. I’m not sure if the baby is saying “hey Mom, what’s up?” or “geeze it’s tight in here!” Either way, if I get up to use the bathroom at 4am, I can be almost certain that a few minutes later my kid will be busy with the workout routine. I did finally get Zach to feel the movement. The baby was kicking hard one night, and Zach was able to feel the hard kicks, which quite entertained him, though I didn’t find the discomfort all that funny… The literature I’ve read says that I’ll be able to notice a routine in the baby’s movements after a while. The movements aren’t always a guarantee in the mornings or evenings, but the baby seems to prefer those times over the middle of the day, which is a plus, since they can be somewhat distracting in the middle of meetings, etc. I wouldn’t say that baby movement is exactly comfortable or fun, but I do find it reassuring when the baby kicks, it reminds me that things are still going along as they should in there.
I am 23 weeks pregnant and i can feel my baby move around, the fave time of day is in the mornings and late on in the night around half past twelve 1 ish. I like the feeling as i jknow that my baby is ok and healthy. I also like watching it move as i can see it kick occasionally. I didnt want to know the sex of my baby. My boyfriend likes to watch my belly and likes to feel it kick. It feels amazing to know that i have a little life inside of me that we have created and no matter how much it kicks, punches and wiggles i will still find it amazing.
I am 23 weeks pregnant too and there is no doubt that he is in there. he loves to be active right as I am trying to go to sleep. It can be uncomfortable at times bt just knowing that he is in there, alive and kicking take all of the discomfort away.
I’m 22 weeks and my little construction worker loves to work at night well into the wee morning hours. I started to feel him move early in my pregnancy because of my slim size, but now I feel like a punching bag or a ski resort for this little fella’. the drilling, hammering, sliding….I’m putting him to work as soon as he’s born. I’m glad he moves though because it assures me that he’s o.k. in there.
Hi Loling - congrats on the pregnancy! I’m glad that you are enjoying the movement. I’ve spoken with some mothers who say that was their absolute favorite thing about pregnancy, and then they missed it once the baby was born. It certainly is a reassuring feeling, even if it does mean that you get a little less sleep. Keep enjoying your little construction worker, and please keep us posted on how the two of you are doing!
That is exactly what it feels like! I’m 23 weeks today, and I also feel him in two places at once. He loves to mosh around, I feel like a moon bouncer! The patterns I’ve noticed are that he moves at around 5 am, around 7:30 during my drive to work, he moves most anywhere between 11:30am and 1pm, and at around midnight. I saw my belly move for the first time last night. It is so great to read that everyone else is feeling the same things I am! It does get hard to fall asleep sometimes, but like the rest of you I am assured my son is healthy and, hopefully, happy! God bless you all and your little ones!
Im also now 22nd week pregnant. It feels good when the baby kicks or moves inside me.It used to remind me of God’s greatness. My husband loves to feel the kicking a lot.We decided to go for an ultrasound to have the sex identified so that we’ll know whether to buy pink or blue baby clothes.I never thought pregnancy could be this fun!!!
I just wanted to know when I will feel it harder inside of me…I can barely feel the baby move now but I am 20 weeks. When does the baby start moving where I can really feel it?
Dear Audrey,I guess its your first pregnancy because it used to happen that we do not recognise the baby’s movement in our first time. But don’t worry,a time will come very soon when you can no longer mistake the kicks as you are already 20 weeks pregnant.sometimes the movement will feel like a beating(thats when doctors say the baby is hiccuping!!!??).Anyway, wish you all the best and take care..
Im 23 weeks with my little boy and Im sure hes goin to be a little boxer or play for Everton from the way he loves to kick and punch me. Ive noticed that he really goues for it 1st thing of a morning and then when Im going to sleep (trying to sleep). Feeling him kicking and punching me is worth it just to know that my little boy is ok in there. my little girl loves to watch her baby bro kickin me she thinks its so funny x
Good luck everyone xx
Hi Emma, congrats on your little boy! I noticed with Xander that he liked to jump and dance those times of the day that I was less active - in the mornings or evenings. I guess all that movement during the day lulls them to sleep… And you are right even though the kicking and punching sometimes gets tiring, it is always reassuring that things are ok in there!
