Hi Dannielle, congrats on the pregnancy! I hadn't heard of the hoola hoop trick - that's kind of funny :-) I hope your ultrasound goes well next week and that your baby cooperates so that you can find out the sex - just be prepared for lots of pink or blue gifts if you know what you're having ;-) Good luck, and I can't wait to hear how it goes!

Hi Evelyn - congrats on your pregnancy! I hope that your 2nd ultrasound will tell you definitely. It's funny, lots of people asked me what I thought I was having - apparently lots of mothers just have a feeling, and often turn out to be right. I didn't really have any clue, so it was a big surprise when Xander came out. But if your heart tells you you're having a boy, my bet is you are! Good luck to you, and please keep us posted!

Hi Ericka - thanks for the support and suggestions. I think it's tough not to worry about those things. I think with the next pregnancy, I'll definitely put more research into optional ultrasounds. Unfortunately, we live in a pretty rural state, so I imagine it'll be challenging to find places that do that sort of thing around here.

don't worry about your baby having down syndrome and spina bifita. Most of those test in my experiance come out positive and then the baby comes healthy as can be:) As far as the gender goes you could google a place where all they do is tell you the gender of the baby and a video of the ultrasound session. I had it done with my last two and will have it done with this one:) It's so much fun to see your baby playing around.
