Week 15 - Hello Maternity Wear!
April 4, 2006
I finally gave in and went shopping for maternity clothes this weekend. It’s both an exciting and somewhat depressing adventure. It’s exciting that this little person is finally getting big enough to be making its presence known, but depressing that I can no longer fit into my regular clothes, and I’m pretty sure that no woman enjoys getting fatter. I scouted many retail stores and didn’t have much luck. TJ Maxx doesn’t have a maternity section. JC Penny has 3 or 4 outfits. Khols had an almost respectable section. Target has a similar sized section, with some stuff, but not everything you need. So, where is a pregnant woman to go when looking for clothes? I managed to score an impressive amount from a family friend. The second best resource was a local second hand shop. I know a lot of women who hesitate to shop in second hand stores. However, maternity clothes are a bit different - they hardly ever get worn out because no one wears them for too long before packing them away again. The other plus to shopping in a second hand store is that you aren’t investing a fortune in clothes that you’re only going to wear for 6 months or so. So, this weekend I packed up all of my pants that no longer fit, and started wearing the pants that have the belly panel sewn into the front. They are more definitely comfortable, but they certainly remind you of how much bigger you’ve gotten!
I went to old navy they had some really nice and comfortable clothes the pants were around 32-36$$ for a pair and shirts you can find if you put maternity tanks underneath it’s a whole new experience. They also had baby clothes on sale for 50% off to bad i did not know what i was having……lot’s of luck ladies your going to need it.I am 15 3/7 weeks pregnant and it shows…..
score for old navy don’t forget you can buy online for discounts.I never thought i would get my maternity wear that i like so much there reallly nice clothes especially comfortable and thin t shirts over tanks work wonders.Just go up a few sizes on shirts thin ones thta are super stretchy work well ok that’s all for now good timesssssssss
I am 16 weeks pregnant and not showing yet!!! My husband says that he can notice the difference in my belly and breasts. The only change I see is my nipples getting darker. I can feel something hard just above my pelvis and just below my navel but when I lie flat on my back there is nothing to be seen or to be felt!!!! Is this normal??
It sure is normal for most of us at 16 weeks. It’s hard to believe there is a baby in there, but remember, although it looks like a baby now, its only about 4 inches long. So when you lie down, you dont see much.
I hope that by today (Aug 9) you have felt something from the baby, but if not, dont worry, I was usually around 18-20 weeks before I felt mine.
Hope you are enjoying this “honeymoon” phase of your pregnancy, it truly is awesome.

Hey everyone, yesterday i hit 16 weeks and it’s really exciting. i have a belly but im not sure if it’s the baby or if it’s just the weight i have put on since being pregnant. it is kinda starting to upset me a bit cause i keep thinking it’s just fat! but my buba is growing somewhere in there so thats pretty cool!
At that time I felt perfect, but even with a formed belly I didn’t had the need for special clothes. On the 7th month I had to go on a wedding and it was a miracle finding something suitable to wear for short terms at
ArabellaB store.
try motherhood, sometimes it’s expensive, but when they have stuff on clearance or sale you can find really cute trendy outfits. i just got three tops for $35, and they’re perfect fitting =)
also ebay you can find stuff for cheap, and a lot of times they post the measurements so you don’t feel like you don’t know what you’re buying will fit you. oh and if you live in an area where craigslist is used a lot try that too. i sold all my maternity tops from previous pregnancies through craigslist for a really good deal for the buyer.
