What’s In A Name?

Has anyone else noticed that the largest, most troublesome hurricane names of 2005 have all been female? I thought that the official name choosers generally switched from boy name to girl name back to boy name, etc. This year, Katrina, Rita and Wilma have been the most damaging. What happened to Bret, Dennis, Franklin, Harvey, Jose, Lee, Nate, Philippe, Stan and Vince? The guys just couldn’t hack it this year? I find it somewhat ironic that both my sister’s name and my name appear as hurricane names in 2010.
Hmm, large, rotating low-pressure centers syphoning energy from tropical waters and bringing high winds and moisture to high latitudes… you’re right, doesn’t sound like any women I know.
