Week 24 - Found the Perfect Crib

June 20, 2006

Chelsea 4-in-1 CribMy mother-in-law, Rachel, mentioned that she had seen some very nice convertible cribs in the Burlington Coat Factory in Concord.  “What is a convertible crib?” I asked.  A convertible crib starts as a crib, and can then be “converted” to a toddler bed, and into a day bed or a regular single bed.  I had never heard of this before (though, I admit, I was far from a crib expert before this too…).  So, after browsing the website for a short amount of time, I found the crib that I wanted.  The Chelsea 4-in-1 crib is perfect.  It has everything I want (including a drawer under the bed).  And, the price is right - $159.99.  Of course, then someone asked me what I would do if I had another baby, since this first kid would in theory be sleeping in the original crib, whatever size they were.  My sister-in-law, Mandy suggested that at the price we had found, we could feasibly simply buy another convertible crib, and then not have to worry about beds for the kids for quite a while (though we will need to purchase mattresses once the beds are moved into single or day bed style).  At any rate, the whole crib issue is a load off of my mind, as I was not quite certain what or where we were going to find a crib.  Now I just have to worry about paint, and carpeting…
