It's funny because Xander rarely spits up when I've got a cloth over my shoulder to protect me. It's almost like Xander knows the difference between my clothes and my burp cloths, and he much prefers to leave spit up on the clothes.... I had one day where I endded up changing my shirt 3 times before she stopped using me as her personal burp rag. My husband was nailed once because he was laying her back quickly and repeatedly just to see her Moro reflex. I warned him and sure enough she sprayed. Needless to say, he didn't do that again... My daughter grew out of it by the time she was 6 months so hopefully your baby will too. My daughter spit up on me a lot too.
